The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most spectacular and rewarding trekking adventures, offering an unforgettable journey around Mount Manaslu (8,163 m), the world’s eighth-highest mountain. This off-the-beaten-path trek is perfect for adventure seekers looking to explore remote Himalayan landscapes, traditional mountain villages, and rich Tibetan Buddhist culture while avoiding the crowds found on more popular trekking routes.
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola and follows the beautiful Budhi Gandaki River through lush forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, and picturesque villages. Along the way, you’ll pass traditional settlements such as Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Samagaun, and Samdo, where you’ll experience the unique culture, ancient monasteries, colorful prayer flags, and warm hospitality of the local Nubri and Tibetan communities.
One of the major highlights of the trek is crossing the breathtaking Larke Pass (5,160 m), the highest point of the journey. From the pass, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Mount Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, Annapurna II, and many other snow-capped peaks. The route also offers opportunities to visit Pungyen Gompa, hike to Manaslu Base Camp, and witness the pristine beauty of glacial lakes and alpine meadows.
