Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest and relax. In the evening, your trekking guide will brief you about the Lower Dolpo adventure and help you prepare for the journey.
After breakfast, take a scenic domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. The flight takes you from the Kathmandu Valley toward the warmer plains of western Nepal.
After arriving in Nepalgunj, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing. You can also make final preparations for your flight to the Dolpo region.
Take an early morning flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal. The flight offers beautiful views of the hills and mountains as you approach Dolpo.
After landing at Juphal, meet your trekking team and begin your walk toward Dunai. The trail passes through small settlements, farmland, and green hills before reaching Dunai, the main settlement of the Dolpo region.
Today, begin trekking deeper into the Lower Dolpo region. The trail follows the river and passes through forests, small villages, and peaceful valleys.
As you continue toward Chhepka, the landscape becomes more remote. The surrounding hills, forests, and river create a beautiful setting for the first full day of trekking.
After breakfast, continue along the trail through dense pine and juniper forests. The route follows the river valley and gradually gains altitude.
You will pass through beautiful natural landscapes and enjoy views of waterfalls and rocky cliffs. Continue toward Jharana, where you will spend the night in a peaceful mountain environment.
Today is one of the most exciting days of the trek. The trail climbs toward Ringmo Village and the spectacular Phoksundo Lake.
As you approach the lake, you will get your first views of its beautiful turquoise water surrounded by dramatic cliffs and mountains. Continue toward Ringmo Village and explore its traditional stone houses and peaceful surroundings.
Spend the day exploring the beautiful Phoksundo Lake and its surroundings. Walk along the lakeshore and enjoy the stunning views of the water and surrounding mountains.
You can also visit nearby monasteries and learn about the traditional Bon and Buddhist culture of the Dolpo people. This rest day also allows you to recover before beginning the return journey.
After breakfast, begin your return journey toward Chhepka. Follow the trail through forests, river valleys, and mountain landscapes.
The trail offers another opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Shey Phoksundo National Park. After several hours of walking, reach Chhepka and relax at your lodge.
Continue your journey toward Juphal today. The trail follows the river and passes through forests, farmland, and small villages.
After reaching Juphal, take some time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trekking adventure. Prepare your belongings for the flight the following morning.
Take an early morning flight from Juphal to Nepalgunj and connect with your flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, your Lower Dolpo Trek โ 10 Days comes to an end.
Depending on your onward flight schedule, you can continue your journey or stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Here is a list of what you might want to pack for the hike. Please take this as a starting point. Youโll need layers of warmer clothing during the winter. We provide a 75 liter duffel bag for you to use for the trek. It will be given to you during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The duffle bag is yours to keep. Also, you can rent sleeping bag and down jacket with us at the additional fee of USD 35 for each once you are in Kathmandu.
