Weather and Trekking Season

Nepal has different weather conditions throughout the year, so choosing the right season can make your trek more enjoyable. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are generally the best seasons for trekking. The weather stays pleasant, the skies are usually clear, and the mountain views are at their best.

Winter (December to February) brings colder temperatures, especially at higher elevations, but it can still be a great time for lower-altitude treks. Monsoon (June to August) brings rain, cloudy skies, and slippery trails in many parts of Nepal. However, areas such as Upper Mustang and Dolpo receive less rainfall and can be good options during this season.

The best trekking season also depends on the region and the type of trek you choose. Before starting your journey, check the expected weather conditions and prepare suitable clothing and trekking gear. With the right season and preparation, trekking in Nepal can be a comfortable and memorable experience.
